The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the 2017 Kia Sorento a Top Safety Pick + rating. This all-new mid-size SUV earned this highest-possible rating thanks to its impressive performance in the IIHS crashworthiness tests and the addition of a new optional automatic braking system. The 2017 Sorento earned “good” ratings in each of the five tests which include the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. The available automatic braking system also earned a “superior” rating to help clinch this highest-possible safety rating. When the vehicle is equipped with the available system it was able to avoid a collision when tested out on the 12 mph and 25 mph track tests. “These results are a clear indication that Kia places a high priority on safety by offering advanced crash avoidance technologies and enhancing vehicle structure through the use of advanced high-strength steel,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, KMA.  “We are proud that the Sorento received strong ratings across the board, and having earned the prestigious TSP+ award bolsters our strong safety record and the integrity of our products.” A few of the driver-assistance systems that are available on the 2017 Kia Sorento include Lane Departure Warning System, Rear Parking Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, High-Beam Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, HID headlights with Dynamic Bending Light technology, and Blind Spot Detection. The 2017 Kia Forte is expected to be arriving to dealerships sometime later this summer and we are now excited to tell our customers that this vehicle has earned a Five-Star Overall Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This is the highest-possible rating that a vehicle can earn from the NHTSA and results are based on the vehicle’s performance in each of their crashworthiness tests. The 2017 Kia Forte earned this top rating by receiving four stars in the front and rollover crash tests and five stars in the side crash test. The 2017 Kia Forte is equipped with a number of standard safety features that include electronic stability control, six airbags, traction control, antilock brakes, and brake assist. A few of the options safety features available for this model include a blind-spot detection system, lane keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert. Kia Motors America (KMA) has announced their best first-half sales results in company history with total sales with an increase of 5.6 percent over last year totalling 328,327 units sold so far this year. Additionally, they set a new monthly sales record for the fifth time in six months with sales increasing 15.6 percent to reach 62,572 units. “No auto brand has experienced greater growth over the last 20 years than Kia, and J.D. Kia Motors America has been recognized as the highest-ranking automotive brand in the J.D. Power 2016 Initial Quality Study (IQS) making this the first time in 27 years that a non-premium brand has achieved this impressive ranking. Over the past few years Kia has consistently climbed in the rankings of the IQS with them earning a ranking in the 10 ten for the first time in 2013 and then landing in second place in 2015. “Ranking number one in the entire industry for initial quality is the result of Kia’s decade-long focus on craftsmanship and continuous improvement, and reflects the voice of our customers, which is the ultimate affirmation,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, Kia Motors America. “As the highest ranked brand in the industry, there is no doubt Kia is a world-class automaker.” The J.D Power IQS evaluated overall owner satisfaction with their new vehicles purchases or leases within the first 90 days of ownership. The results of the Total Quality Impact (TQI) study have been released by Strategic Vision and Kia Motors was recognized as the highest quality brand under $26,000 (in a tie). There were more than 39,000 new car owners surveyed by the company in order to determine the overall winners and the winners in each of the various vehicle segments. The dedicated individuals who work together to provide treatment, care, and counselling to the patients and family members while they are going through this difficult time and are, in many ways, the main source of comfort and support.
