For the second year in a row, Kia Motors America (KMA) sold more than 60,000 vehicles throughout the month of May. This year’s sales amounted to 62,433 units, which is 3.9% higher than the 60,087 units that the brand sold during last May. This is especially significant because these are the the only two times in Kia history that monthly sales have topped the 60,000 unit mark. Additionally, the brand’s sales for the year so far have come to 256,815 units, rising by 4.3% over the first five months of last year.
“Kia is never afraid to challenge conventional thinking, and the latest example is our launch of the ‘Summer’s On Us’ sales event in May rather than a traditional Memorial Day promotion, and the record-setting results show it clearly resonated with consumers,” said Michael Sprague, Chief Operating Officer and EVP, KMA.

- Soul reached 13,886 units
