August Sales Announced By Kia Motors America

August sales results have been reported by Kia Motors America (KMA) and it looks as though the brand reached a total of 54,248 units sold throughout the month.

The Soul and Optima were the best sellers for the month reaching an August total of 12,253 units and 9,470 units respectively. Rio sales were up 92 percent to reach 3,325 units, and Sedona sales are more than twice as high as they were in August 2015 with this year’s total reaching 5,147 units, a 102 percent increase. Additionally, the Forte had its best August sales ever with the total up 379 percent to reach 8,305 units!

Finally, sales of the Cadenza came to 272 units and sales of the Sportage were up 19.8 percent with 6,888 units.

“Despite signs that industry-wide sales may have peaked in 2015, Kia is up nearly four percent through August on the strength of double-digit year-over-year increases for Rio, Forte, Sportage and Sedona,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA.
