Kia Motors America (KMA) is back for “NBC Sunday Night Football” for the second season, and this time, the brand’s focus will be on a marketing campaign for the 2016 Sorento CUV. The official campaign began on October 4 and will continue through the entire 2015-2016 NFL season. This model made its infamous first commercial appearance during last year’s Super Bowl in the commercial called “The Perfect Getaway” starring Pierce Brosnan. So, it is only fitting, that the newest round of advertisements for this model should be aired during prime time football as well.

“Sunday Night Football attracts the largest primetime audience and provides an excellent opportunity to connect with football fans and showcase the premium utility experience of Kia’s largest and most capable CUV ever,” said Tim Chaney, vice president of marketing communications, KMA.

Throughout the season, Kia will be releasing three new advertisements featuring the 2016 Kia Sorento CUV that show off this impressive model while also sticking to the football theme. In each of the three spots, called “Participation”, “Great Game”, and “Pants”, we see “football parents” attending their kids’ games and hear their inner monologues about what they are actually thinking.

For the fifth month in a row, Kia Motors America (KMA) has reported that the brand has set a new monthly sales record. Throughout September, the brand’s sales reached 49,820 units increasing 22.6 percent over sales from this month last year. Additionally, the brand’s best sales performance in history has continued throughout the third quarter of the year with Year-To-Date sales 7 percent higher than last year reaching 475,978 so far this year.

  • Sales of the Cadenza reached 859 units
  • Sales of the Forte increased by 19.3 percent with 5,388 units
  • Sales of the K900 487.5 percent with 329 units
  • Sales of the Optima increased by 7.4 percent with 11,719 units
  • Sales of the Rio reached 1,480 units
  • Sales of the Sedona increased by 395 percent with 3,039 units
  • Sales of the Sorento increased by 42 percent with 9,380 units

The 2015 Kia Soul has passed! The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick test, that is. The IIHS awarded a rating of “Good” to the Soul thanks in part to the passing of the difficult to pass “small overlap front crash test”. This test simulates what would likely happen if a vehicle strikes an object like a utility pole or a tree and is rated on a  four-point scale from poor to good. It also earned “Good” scores in the other four tests: moderate overlap side, moderate overlap front, head restraints and seats, and roof strength. By strengthening the front end and occupant compartment for the 2015 model “the driver space was maintained reasonably well with a small amount of intrusion,” IIHS said in a statement.

The 2015 Ultimate Minivan Challenge from Cars.com and MotorWeek took place earlier this month, with the 2016 Kia Sedona being declared the winner. Five of the most popular minivans available were pitted against each other in this competition to determine which one had the most to offer. In order to make this determination, a mixture of real customer opinions were considered along with the results of the comprehensive evaluation conducted by Cars.com and MotorWeek experts.

The evaluation included a test drive on a 135-mile course which featured a variety of different road surfaces and conditions in order to test handling, ride, acceleration, and real-world fuel economy. The experts also compared the five models in terms of standard features, drivetrains, and technology.

Kia has released a short video highlight reel of the newly designed Kia Sportage! The global debut of the fourth-generation SUV will take place on September 15th at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new model offers greater passenger comfort, new technology, and better handling agility and will build on the success of previous models. U.S. sales results for August have been announced by Kia Motors America( KMA), and the brand is stating that with a total of 58,897 units sold this is their best-eve sales results for August in company history. The brand’s overall sales total for the month is a full 7.7 percent higher than sales from last August, and their year-to-date sales so far this year have come to 426,160 units, increasing 5.4 percent from last year.

“Kia has outpaced the industry all year, and that trend continued in August as we set our fourth consecutive monthly sales record despite significant turbulence in the stock market and not having the benefit of Labor Day weekend sales,” said Michael Sprague, Chief Operating Officer and EVP, KMA.  “Since its introduction in 2009, the wildly popular Soul has been one of the industry’s greatest success stories, and its record-setting August performance comes on the heels of being the highest ranked compact multi-purpose vehicle in initial quality by J.D. Power.”

August Highlights:

  • Sales of the Rio reached 1,734 units
  • Sales of the Forte increased by 19 percent with 6,862 units
  • Sales of the Optima reached 13,980 units
  • Sales of the Cadenza reached 322 units
  • Sales of the K900 increased by 278 percent with 386 units
  • Sales of the Sportage increased by 28 percent with 5,749 units
  • Sales of the Sorento increased by 9.8 percent with 10,211 units
  • Sales of the Sedona increased by 268 percent with 2,545 units
