Kia Has Great November Sales
Kia Motors America had a couple of reasons to be proud of last month. Not only was it a record-setting November, but they also sold their six-millionth vehicle in the U.S. since arriving in 1994. In November, KMA sold a total of 45,553 vehicles, which is a 1.4 percent increase year-over-year. Top selling vehicles for the month included the Optima and Soul, with 13,048 and 10,045 units sold, respectively.
“Kia has outpaced the industry all year, and with our ‘Holidays On Us’ sales event in place throughout November customers visited our showrooms in record numbers to discover the new Kia,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA. “Kia continues to grow and mature at a rapid rate, and surpassing the six million vehicles mark as we push toward a strong finish to the year is the latest example of how far this brand has come in a very short period of time.”

The 2016 Kia Optima has been chosen as the International Car of the Year by Road & Travel Magazine (RTM) making this the fourth year in a row that a Kia vehicle has been the recipient of this award. Additionally, the 2016 Kia Sorento was chosen as the International SUV of the Year. Both models were selected for their combination of stylish design, premium available features and smooth performance and drivability capabilities.

RTM has been giving out their prestigious “Of the Year” awards since 1995. The vehicles that are chosen as the winners are selected by the ICPTY jury which is made up of journalists from several top publications such as MSN Autos, Consumer Guide® Automotive, RTM, and New Car News Syndicate. The jury considers a number of vehicle factors for each model along with each brand’s ability to create marketing campaigns that connect emotionally with customers.

Kia Releases October Sales
Kia sales were up for the month of October. The sixth consecutive record sales month pushed the year-to-date sales up 7.4 percent. October sales increased 12 percent over this time last year and saw the Optima and Soul as the number one and number two sellers nationwide.
“Kia is a challenger brand, and our ability to outpace the industry without the benefit of a truck in our lineup speaks volumes about consumers discovering the new Kia,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA. “With the all-new 2016 Optima arriving in showrooms and the completely redesigned 2017 Sportage making its North American debut at the LA Auto Show this month, this is an exciting time for Kia as we push toward a strong finish to the year.”
