Kia is going oldschool with their latest advertisements for the for the all-new Kia Sorento with a little help from football legends Bo Jackson and Brian Bosworth. Anyone who owned a classic Nintendo System growing up is sure to remember the popular game Tecmo Bowl. This classic game featured one or two players competing against each other on a football field as they managed their individual teams.

Gamers today who are used to the high-def graphics of the more modern football-theme games would find it hard to understand the excitement of this overly-pixelated basic format but the nostalgia of it is still strong in those who grew up with it. Now, Kia is bringing the classic look and sound of this game back for two new football-themed advertisements for the Sorento called  “Tecmo Bros” and “Tecmo Bo”.

“At Kia, we are always looking to stand out, and using the Sorento to take football fans inside a beloved video game and bring two legendary players roaring back in all their 8-bit glory was an opportunity that was simply too good to pass up,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, Kia Motors America (KMA). “Sunday Night Football has been the top-rated primetime show for five straight years, and after our football-themed advertising helped push Sorento sales up more than 13 percent in 2015, returning this year was a no-brainer.”
