Niro Guinness World Record

Traveling cross country may seem like a daunting adventure, but now when you’re driving the 2017 Kia Niro! Two friends recently set out to break a Guinness World Record in the new Urban Crossover Hybrid Vehicle. Driver Wayne Gerdes and co-driver, Robert Wringer managed to drive from Los Angeles to New York City – that’s about 3,715.4 miles – using only 48.5 gallons of gas. In the 2017 Kia Niro, that means they only had to stop about 4 times! The new world record for driving across country from coast to coast is now  76.6 MPG.

“We’re extremely pleased with the Niro’s record-breaking performance,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning KMA. “We set out to build a vehicle that offers real-world utility, great looks and fantastic mileage, and setting the Guinness World Record® title confirms our achievement.”

We know you’re getting impatient, but don’t worry, the 2017 Kia Niro will be arriving at Destination Kia in just a few months and we promise to keep you updated regularly!
